WHAT IS THE RESILIENCE PROJECT?

Resilience consultants from Soul Bird combined efforts with other therapists and counselors in Greater Cincinnati to join trauma survivors in building five resilience factors:

  • Positive connections with safe adults

  • Affiliation

  • Self-esteem

  • Voice, Choice, and Control

  • External support systems

The Growing Resilience e-book linked below is a compilation of stories and resources for teachers, foster parents, educators and other staff working with people who have experienced trauma. The Resilience Project is in collaboration with Hamilton & Clermont boards of DD, Clermont & Butler Family & Children First, Child Focus, Inc., and Families Connected of Clermont County.

RESILIENCE APPROACHES

RESILIENCE PROJECT PODCAST

Sarah talks about growing resilience - and how it happens in relationship. She calls it relational resilience and says that along her own learning journey she has found that the true entry point to the work - begins when we begin to notice in what shows up in our bodies, and cultivate a sense of safety in ourselves so that we can bring that to others.

Sarah talks candidly about her experience as a facilitator of Trauma Informed Biographical Timelines, and what she has learned about being intentional before, during, and after a timeline to make for the best outcome. Sarah Buffie MSW, LSW, founding director of Soul Bird Consulting believes that nothing has the power to heal like supportive relationships.
